Atmosphere

A great bia hoi when the weather is good (not too hot/humid and not raining - Spring or Autumn best times to visit). A particular favourite of mine for an after-work quickie with just a few friends rather than large groups.

Always best to sit on the street outside (they have plastic tables stretching down the street for around 20 meteres) and enjoy the view of a surprisingly impressive Catholic Church opposite as well as the comings and goings down one of the little and rather attractive streets south from Hoan Kiem. (Sat inside however, unfortunately the place is a little crowded and usually smells of urine.)

Food and Drink

Apart from the view of the church and being a good spot to watch the world go by, the place also has a special place in my heart for the delicious fried wontons (Ha Cao) whipped up in the alley, next to the bia hoi.

The friendly old girl will happily bring you a dish whilst you are sat at the bia hoi - a great little appetizer before you head on out for dinner!
